Grunhilde Serenity (グリュンヒルデ・セレニティ, Guryunhirude Sereniti) is the eighth princess of the Serenity Royal Family.
Appearance[]
Grunhilde has blue eyes and long, light blonde hair which is either bound in two bun with tails (casual) or in a ponytail around neck level (formal).
At school, Grunhilde wears a pink Hakuoh Academy uniform, and a black Yacht Club hoodie during yacht club activities.
Aboard the Queen Serendipity, she wore a dark red military coat with gold lining, brown shoulder pads, a brown diagonal strap, white leggings and high, dark blue boots.
Personality & Character[]
Grunhilde is reasonably sociable, though a bit quieter than her sister at first [1]. Like her sister, she isn't particularly interested in her royal position [2] and doesn't like being left out, becoming a little jealous when this happens [1][3]. Grunhilde is perfectly willing to encourage and use underhanded methods should the need arise [4] [5].
Skills & Abilities[]
As a member of the yacht club, Grunhilde has knowledge of how to fly a dinghy from training simulations and flew in the 19th Nebula Cup, finishing in 2nd place [6]. She also has experience at operating certain systems aboard the Odette II and has knowledge of how to operate some systems aboard the Bentenmaru.
Relationships[]
Gruier Serenity[]
At the start of the series, Grunhilde's relationship with her sister was rocky due to their disagreement over the issue of the royal family's future. However after the situation was resolved, the two reconciled [1].
Marika Kato[]
At first, Grunhilde didn't want her sister to get too close to a pirate, however she quickly changed her mind on seeing for herself what a good person Marika was. She has displayed a small amount of jealously when she felt Gruier to be keeping Marika to herself [3].
Kanata Mugen[]
During the events of Abyss of Hyperspace, Grunhilde apparently develops a crush on Kanata [7], which Gruier and the other yacht club members have noticed [8]. She did her best to help Kanata how she could and Kanata was grateful for that help [7][8].
Trivia[]
- The element Hilde in Grunhilde's name is derived from Hildr, which means battle in Old Norse. The element Grun (or Grün) means green in German.
- Grunhilde bears a slight resemblance to the character Latvia from Hetalia: Axis Powers.
